Chennai Super Kings (CSK) crushed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 7 wickets in the 22nd match on Monday, April 9. It was almost a one-sided affair for the home team Chennai, who restricted KKR to 137-9 in the first innings to set up an easy chase.

When MS Dhoni took the guard with his bat at the crease, the Chepauk crowd lit up shouting his name and cheering for his Thala. The noise was so loud that Andre Russell couldn’t stand it. Interestingly, in another video before the CSK vs KKR clash, Andre Russell was seen checking the weight of his bats. He was not satisfied with the weights and found them heavy. KKR also shared a video of the moment on their social media.
“However, I don’t feel like that. This feels heavier. I want to take this (part of the bat) off. This is heavy. Feel the bat. And then feel this one. So even though this says it’s lighter, it’s heavier.” than this, which is weird,” Russell said in the video.

Russell had impeccable performances in the previous games of IPL 2024. The right-handed batsman smashed an unbeaten 64 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and a quickfire 41 against Delhi Capitals. He has also stolen 5 wickets in 4 matches. KKR won 3 out of 4 games in IPL 2024. They are second in the points table with 6 points.
