Team India all-rounder Axar Patel has kept young left-handed bowler Manav Suthar at bay in the ongoing match between India C and India D in the Duleep Trophy 2024.
Axar Patel smashed his half-century after his team collapsed against the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side in the domestic red-ball game.
Ruturaj Gaikwad opted to bowl first after winning the toss at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Thursday, September 5.
The decision proved fortunate for his team against the Shreyas Iyer-led side. Anshul Kamboj dismissed Atharva Taide on the fifth ball of the first over.

Axar Patel came to the crease when the team was in trouble at 34-5. Wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat was dismissed for 13 runs in 42 balls by Manav Suthar.
India D team slumped to 48/6 after the Bharat wicket. Axar showed resilience with the bat despite wickets falling at the other end.
The left-handed batsman smashed Manav Suthar for two sixes and a four in the 39th over of India D team’s first innings. Axar reached the half-century milestone during the same over. The left-handed bowler conceded four runs through byes on the second ball and finished the over with 21 runs.
