[WATCH] Former India star brutally attacks AB de Villiers and South Africa

Notably, the duo has played together for RCB.

Former Proteas star AB de Villiers is considered one of the most complete batsmen in world cricket with his wide range of strokes, leading to him being popularly known as Mr.360.

Recently, a former India star was asked if the South Africa veteran has any weaknesses in his batting that can be exploited.

Speaking in a video on YouTube channel 2 sloggers, former India goalkeeper Parthiv Patel revealed that De Villiers does not have any weaknesses.

Patel noted that tactics and strategies at traditional grounds like Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium don’t seem to faze him. The South African legend has responded to every challenge that has come his way, showing no weakness against his opponents, but Parthiv added a twist.

Notably, the duo played together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL.

Parthiv Patel investigates AB de Villiers

Parthiv gave a cheeky response in which the former Indian cricketer quipped:

“We can only tell you that it is a final match or a knockout match. Then something can happen.”

Parthiv’s comments were an attack on the Proteas in general, who have a reputation throughout history of succumbing in decisive games in ICC tournaments, earning them the unpopular nickname “chokers”.

However, earlier this year, South Africa managed to break the jinx during the 2024 T20 World Cup by qualifying for their first ICC final, where they faced India.

South Africa almost had a hand in the trophy when India’s Suryakumar Yadav made a stunning late catch to add a turn that ultimately cost the Proteas the title.

Speaking of AB, he left an indelible mark on the game with his extraordinary versatility and innovation.

The legendary batsman made his debut in 2004, amassing 8,765 runs in 114 Test matches at an average of 50.66, with 22 centuries to his name. In ODIS, he scored 9,577 runs in 228 matches at an average of 53.50, including 25 centuries.

De Villiers also holds the record for the fastest 50, 100 and 150 in ODIs. In the shortest format, he scored 1,672 runs in 78 matches.
