When Gautam Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India, many feared that he might complicate things in the dressing room due to his relationship with Virat Kohli.

Over the years, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have clashed on several occasions. Last year, they were involved in a furious fight and had to be separated by other players.

Unsurprisingly, there were concerns that Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli would not get along. However, the former Indian teammates have put those fears to rest in no time. Recently, pictures of Gambhir and Kohli laughing went viral. In the photo, Gambhir can be seen laughing uncontrollably after Kohli apparently said something to him.

And now another video has surfaced showing that all is well between the two. In the video that is going viral on social media, Gambhir and Kohli were involved in an intense discussion in the dressing room during the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Friday (August 2). Kohli was sitting with his pads, helmet and gloves on and listening to his new head coach.

Last month, Gambhir also opened up about his relationship with Kohli, saying that it was not public. The former India opener had stated that he shares a good relationship with Kohli.

“It’s good for TRP. My relationship is not public. It’s a relationship between two mature people. On the field, I’m sure we have to be on the same page. I have a very good relationship with him,” Gambhir had said in his first press conference as India’s head coach.

Talking about the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, the latter finished their innings at 230/8. At one stage, the hosts were reeling at 101/5. However, an unbeaten fifty from Dimuth Wellalage helped them post a challenging total.

In reply, India were 152/5 in the 32nd over at the time of writing this report. India had made a good start with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 75 runs for the first wicket. However, Sri Lanka dismissed both the openers in quick succession before clawing their way back into the game with three more wickets.
