Hardik Pandya returned to bowling in the 15th innings when the Proteas batsmen were firing on all cylinders.

On the first ball of the over, Hardik surprised David Miller with a brutal delivery and changed the momentum in India’s favour. The pacer bowled a short shot of the length that Miller tried to hit but missed completely.

David Miller received a direct hit in the box and instantly fell to his knees. Hardik did not bother to control the batsman and came back to start his run. There was also a slight lull in the match as the batsman only continued batting after a short break.

Miller’s knock definitely changed his approach as on the fifth ball of the same over, Axar Patel caught him near the boundary ropes.

The explosive batsman was back in the hut after scoring 18 runs off 18 balls. His innings consisted of a four and a six. Talking about Hardik Pandya, he bowled all four of his overs in the match and conceded 50 runs while taking just one wicket.

Earlier, India posted a massive score of 219/6 on the board, riding on Tilak Varma’s century and under-pressure Abhishek Sharma’s fifty.

The Indian bowler performed well but could not help the team win in the previous match.

The Indian bowlers put up a spirited display in defending a modest target of 125 runs, giving South Africa a tough time at the crease.

Arshdeep Singh had made an early breakthrough by dismissing Ryan Rickelton. However, Varun Chakravarthy was the star of the show, putting up an excellent spell of 4 overs and claiming five crucial wickets for just 17 runs.

His clever use of variations kept South Africa in the top position. Aiden Markram, Reeza Hendricks and Marco Jansen were victims of Varun’s well-disguised errors, leaving South Africa at a shaky 66/6 in the 12th over.

Ravi Bishnoi bowled accurately and picked up a wicket from Andile Simelane. The leg-spinner managed just 21 runs in his four-over spell.

Hardik Pandya and Avesh Khan provided decent support, keeping their lines tight even though they failed to increase the wicket tally. However, it was India’s misfortune that despite bowling, they were unable to take full advantage as Tristan Stubbs, along with Gerald Coetzee, led the Proteas to victory in the 19th over.
