India captain Rohit Sharma spoke about the five-match Test series victory over England. He said that he has no words to describe the victory as the team went through several challenges and the young players raised their hands in difficult times.
India registered an excellent victory over England in the five-match Test series. The team was earlier shaken when Virat Kohli opted out of the series due to personal reasons. If this was not enough, KL Rahul was injured and Ravindra Jadeja also missed a match due to the injury.
With a lot of inexperience in the team, not many gave the Indian team a chance to win the series, especially after losing the first game. However, the way they came back was something to appreciate and many applauded the way they played.
The youngster-packed team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma put up some magnificent performances and ensured that India did not lose any more games in the series after losing the first match in Hyderabad, despite having a first innings lead.
The likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and others stepped up for the team when it mattered most. When the chips were down, they raised their hands and put the team in a commanding position and eventually won the games for the team.
The seniors also contributed valiant efforts and it was a collective effort that saw India win the series by a margin of 4-1. Captain Rohit Sharma captained the team brilliantly and the way he guided the youngsters was something worth appreciating for everyone.
Rohit Sharma could not put into words the victory in the series against England. He pointed out how the young players raised their hands and helped the team win the match. In a video released by the BCCI, he explained:
“I don’t have words to describe this particular team we have right now. “Different challenges, different test matches and people put their hands up and helped us get over the line.”
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav also shared their verdict on the series win.
