Indian national cricket team wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan made a sensational return to domestic cricket while playing for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament. He set the stage on fire in the match against Madhya Pradesh, which took place at the India Cements Limited Cricket Ground in Sankar Nagar.

Ishan Kishan is the captain of the Jharkhand team in the ongoing Buchi Babu Invitational tournament being organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. The batsman, who has been under the radar for the past few months, made sure to silence all critics with the bat upon his return.

Kishan, who was the mainstay of India’s batting line-up last year, was released from the BCCI contract after he did not agree to play in the domestic circuit. The wicketkeeper-batsman opted to leave the Indian team due to mental fatigue and after that, things did not go his way.

The team management and the BCCI had asked Kishan to take part in the domestic circuit if he was to return to the Indian team. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman did not agree to play and remained out of the game, which did not go down well with the BCCI.

But ahead of the domestic season in India, the BCCI selectors got in touch with Ishan Kishan. They told the wicketkeeper-batsman that he might miss out on international opportunities during the prime of his career. However, after that, he came back and made sure to make an immediate impact.

Ishan Kishan was impressive with the bat for Jharkhand as he scored a sensational century and ensured that he put his team in the top position. The wicketkeeper-batsman came out to bat at number 6 and completed his half-century in 61 balls and after that, there was no looking back.

Ishan Kishan then played a brutal style of cricket and raced towards his century. The batsman reached his century in just 86 balls. But what caught the attention of many was that he hit two consecutive sixes to reach his century and announce his arrival in style.

Kishan finished with an innings of 114 runs off 107 balls. He batted at a strike rate of over 100 and also hit 5 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. His batting ensured that the team was put in the best position and the ton would have surely taken the monkey off his back.

After the Buchi Babu tournament, Kishan will play in the Duleep Trophy. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been named in India’s D team and will play under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer in the tournament, which will be held from September 5.

The hundred points he scored in the Buchi Babu tournament would have given Kishan a lot of confidence. After the ongoing tournament, he would be eager to make a mark in the Duleep Trophy and regain his place in the Indian team.
