While Indian batsman Ishan Kishan is away from the cricket field, he recently uploaded a video of his gym session along with Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
Ishan had withdrawn from the T20I series against Afghanistan and the Test series against England as he wanted to manage his workload. As per the new BCCI rule, cricketers who have been off the field for unnecessary reasons are required to play domestic cricket. However, Kishan did not return to domestic cricket and is currently preparing for IPL 2024.
In the video uploaded by Ishan Kishan, he is seen training along with Hardik Pandya. Kishan was seen talking to Pandya about his workout and doing some tough weight training. Kishan last represented India during the T20I series against South Africa in December last year.
Ishan Kishan is gearing up to return to competitive cricket in the DY Patil T20 event in Mumbai. He is currently training in Vadodara alongside Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Kishan will represent the Reserve Bank of India in the DY Patil T20 tournament, which attracts several front-office teams and provides a respectable playing environment for the participants.

Ishan Kishan will play alongside Hardik Pandya for Mumbai Indians during the Indian Premier League 2024. Kishan has performed well in the IPL in the past and hopes to repeat the same in the 2024 edition of the tournament. IPL 2024 is all set to begin on March 22, while Mumbai Indians will play their first match against Gujarat Titans on March 24.
Due to Kishan’s aversion to playing first-class cricket and his obsessive focus on the IPL, the BCCI had to enforce that players had to participate in a minimum number of Ranji Trophy matches to be eligible for the auction pool of the rich league
A senior member of the Indian management has reportedly informed Ishan Kishan that he would return to domestic cricket if he wishes to return to the Test side. However, Kishan replied that he is currently working on the technical aspects of it and that he is not ready for red-ball cricket.
While Ishan Kishan was supposed to represent Jharkhand in domestic cricket starting February 15 during the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 match against Rajasthan. At the moment, JSCA does not know anything about Kishan’s return to the team in the last phase of the tournament. On the other hand, it is also reported that the BCCI selectors do not prefer Ishan for the upcoming series and tournaments. In the current scenario, more than 3 players are competing for a spot in the Indian team.
With the upcoming T20 World Cup approaching, the Indian Premier League 2024 will be a means through which the selectors will select the team of the tournament.
The selectors of the 2024 T20 World Cup team may not consider Ishan Kishan first. Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson, for example, can be chosen by the selectors to be included in the squad for the next big ICC tournament. In the Indian cricket team, there is fierce competition for a single position, with several players competing for the same position.
