Jasprit Bumrah had a humorous reaction to Mohammed Siraj’s struggle to see the ball during the second innings of the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The incident took place in the 19th over of Bangladesh’s innings when Jasprit Bumrah was bowling towards Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto. Mohammed Siraj was fielding at the deep and backward square leg position at the time.
On the fifth ball of the over, the Indian pacer bowled a shorter delivery down the leg side and Shanto sent it towards Mohammed Siraj. However, the pacer could not see the ball clearly as he took a step to his left before realising that the ball was on his right side.
In the end, Mohammed Siraj made a spectacular save by diving in the last minute to save three runs for the team. As soon as he stopped the ball, he made a gesture with his hands to indicate that he could not see the ball. Seeing Siraj’s reaction, Jasprit Bumrah was quick to remind him to put on his sunglasses and not keep them on his cap.
