India’s tour of Sri Lanka so far:

The tour of Sri Lanka marked a new beginning for Indian cricket. The three-match T20I series was India’s first assignment under new captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir. The Men in Blue began the new journey on a bright note by defeating the hosts in the T20Is.

India won the first game by 43 runs before winning the second game by 7 wickets (DLS method) to clinch the series. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team then registered a thrilling victory in the third game via the Super Over.

While India dominated the T20Is, the story has been a little different in the ongoing ODI series. In spin-friendly conditions, India’s batsmen have failed to impress so far. Barring the captain Rohit Sharmawho is the leading run-scorer in the series, no other Indian batsman has managed to impress. The first game ended in a draw as India were bowled out for 230 while chasing 231.

In the second match, India were bowled out for 208 runs while chasing 241 runs. The visitors will now look to win the upcoming third match to level the series. The third ODI will mark the end of India’s tour of Sri Lanka. India will be in action when they host Bangladesh next month.
