The type of shape Yashasvi Jaiswal Of late, the bowlers would have needed something special to get rid of him in the ongoing game between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
The left-hander made it to IPL 2024 on the back of an impressive performance in the five-match Test series against England. Playing his first Test series at home, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a staggering 712 runs in the series. No other batsman from either team could even touch the 460-run mark. The Mumbai star smashed two consecutive centuries and three half-centuries as India came back to win the series 4-1.
With Yashasvi Jaiswal in excellent form, he was expected to hit the ground running in IPL 2024. However, he has not done well with the bat so far. In his first game of the season, he started against Lucknow Super Giants and raced to 24 off just 10 balls before being dismissed.
In the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals, he could only score 5 runs before being bowled by an absolute beauty by his India teammate Mukesh Kumar. In the second ball of the over, Yashasvi Jaiswal hit the pacer for a four before being bowled by him off the fifth ball.
Bowling from around the stumps, Mukesh Kumar bowled an angled delivery and beat the inside edge of the opener before the ball hit the stumps.

Speaking of the game, the Royals are in serious trouble after being asked to bat first. At the time of writing, they were reeling at 38 for 3 after eight overs. After Yashasvi Jaiswal got out cheaply, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson also failed to get going and were dismissed for 11 and 15 respectively.
The Rajasthan-based team started their season with a 20-run victory over LSG and will be hoping to extend their winning start. On the other hand, DC are looking for their first win in IPL 2024 after losing their first game against Punjab Kings.
