Mukesh Kumar was at his best during the fifth game between India and Australia. The last match between the two teams took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Mukesh Kumar bowled a magnificent spell of fast bowling against Australia. His finest moment came during the 17th over when he picked two wickets and tilted the game in India’s favour. He caught the attention of many with the delivery that Ben Dwarshuis made.
Mukesh Kumar produced a peach to send the Australian batsman packing. He bowled a seam ball that skidded off the cover. The batsman tried to stay on the leg side of the ball to take it to third man. He played on the wrong line and the ball took off the middle stump.

Ben Dwarshuis bagged a golden duck because he had no answers to Mukesh Kumar’s peach. The previous pacer in the over also removed Matthew Short. The all-rounder looked threatening but only managed 16 runs.
Mukesh Kumar also removed Josh Phillippe in the powerplay to set the tone for his side. He picked three wickets and returned with figures of 3/32 in his quota of 4 overs.
After Mukesh Kumar’s spell, Arshdeep Singh became India’s hero in the last game. The fast bowler defended 10 runs in the final over and helped his team win the game. India took the series by a margin of 4-1.
IND vs AUS: Thank God I defended him – Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh spoke about the last over and said that he thought he had given away runs in the first three overs. He also spoke about the conversation with captain Suryakumar Yadav and said that he will learn a lot from this series. He added:
“I was thinking I gave away too many runs (in the first three overs) and was hoping for another chance, and thank God I defended it and also thank you to the staff who believed in me. Surya (before bowling the final over) told me that whatever happens, let it happen, and the credit also goes to the batsmen.
“We had a cushion of 15 to 20 runs and it was definitely more than par. By the standards we have set as an Indian team, it wasn’t close (talking about their performances in this series), but there is a lot to learn and I hope to come back stronger.”
The next time India will be seen in action will be when they tour South Africa.
