Indian national cricket team batsman Rinku Singh has suffered an injury in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka in the second T20I. The penultimate match of the three-match series between the teams is being held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

Sri Lanka national cricket team is having a great performance with the bat in the match that is being played against the Indian national cricket team. One of the main reasons behind this has been left-hander Kusal Perera who has been making fools of the bowlers and smashing them all over the field.

Kusal Perera, who came out to bat at No. 3, made sure he took his team to the big total. The left-hander bowled some accurate shots in his innings but he wouldn’t have done as much damage as he did had he been given a reprieve. But it also resulted in Rinku Singh facing an injury blow.

On the third ball of the 14th over, Hardik Pandya bowled a delivery to which Kusal Perera applied his trademark pick-up shot behind the square leg side. He mistimed it and did not centre the ball as it landed at Rinku Singh, who was close to the boundary ropes.

It looked like Rinku Singh would take the catch, and he did, but he lost control and slipped, resulting in him falling as he slid towards the boundary rope, allowing the batsman to get six runs and reach his fifty in style.

Fortunately, the injury did not seem too serious as Rinku Singh made a quick comeback and continued to play. Kusal Perera was at his best as he scored a half-century and ensured that the Sri Lankan National Team surpassed the 130-run mark with ease.

Rinku Singh returns with a fine catch to dismiss Kusal Perera

However, Rinku Singh did not take long to recover and took a brilliant catch to dismiss Kusal Perera. It was Hardik Pandya who got his man out in the 16th over; he then dismissed the batsman, having missed the chance earlier.

Hardik Pandya bowled a short, slow-paced ball that went off the side of the pitch, and Kusal Perera cleared his front leg to flick the ball towards the side of the pitch. He failed to get it off the middle of the bat and holed out.

Rinku Singh leaned forward to catch a low ball at deep square leg. While catching the ball, he kissed it after completing the catch. Fortunately, the above catch did not cost India much as Kusal Perera got out after scoring a few more runs.

Kusal Perera finished with an innings of 53 runs off 34 balls. The left-hander batted at a strike rate of over 155 and hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. After his wicket, the team lost wickets quickly and came under pressure.
