Watch: Rishabh Pant takes a jibe at Kuldeep Yadav after he leaves Washington Sundar

Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is known for his unique ways of hitting the opposing batsmen. This time, Pant hit his India and Delhi Capitals teammate Kuldeep Yadav to get him out in the first round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B.

During the 45th over of India A’s second innings, Pant was heard lashing out at Kuldeep Yadav and saying, “agle teen over me tu OUT hai (You will be out in the next three overs).” That was exactly how it happened, as Kuldeep was dismissed in the 48th over.

Off-spinner Washington Sundar came in to bowl the 48th over of the innings. On the second ball of the over, Sundar bowled the ball outside the off-stump.

Kuldeep attempted to drive the ball through the covers but could not keep it down and gave a simple catch to Musheer Khan at covers.

After the fall of Kuldeep’s wicket, Pant hilariously celebrated the dismissal by saying, “yeaah out hogya out hogya”. Pant’s voice was clearly heard on the off-stump microphone as Kuldeep Yadav had a soft dismissal.

Kuldeep Yadav was dismissed after a dogged 14 off 56 balls. The left-hander tried his best to stay at the crease but was eventually tempted into taking a false shot.

His wicket also ended a 29-run partnership between him and Akash Deep, who quickly scored 43 and was the last wicket to fall in the match.

Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav in India squad for Bangladesh Tests

Both Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav have been selected for the Indian squad for the Test series against Bangladesh, which begins on September 19 in Chennai.

This also marks Pant’s return to Test cricket after his life-threatening accident in December 2022.

While Pant has been selected as India’s first-choice wicket-keeper, Dhruv Jurel has been selected as the other wicket-keeper in the team.

Jurel made a brilliant start to his Test career against England earlier this year, where he scored 190 runs in three Tests at an average of 63.33.

Rishabh Pant’s return will give a big boost to India as Pant has an outstanding record in Test cricket.

Before the accident, he was one of India’s leading players in red-ball cricket, with hundreds in Australia, England and South Africa. He has scored more than 2,000 runs in this format in 33 Tests.

The players who have been selected for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh will now be leaving the Duleep Trophy. A camp will be held in Chennai from September 12 to help the players prepare for the upcoming Test season.
