Virat Kohli rarely gets bogged down by pressure and it was evident once again on Monday when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took on Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the ongoing IPL 2024.
The former RCB captain made a funny comment even though his team was under pressure during the chase. The incident took place just before the 13th over when he was standing at the non-striker’s end and left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar was preparing to bowl to Glenn Maxwell.
When Brar ran to deliver the ball, Maxwell stopped him because he was not ready to face the ball yet. And as Brar walked towards his bowling target, he was heard telling Virat Kohli: “Rukja behenc**, saans to lene de (roughly translated as: wait, let him breathe).” The right-handed batsman also came up with the same comment for Ravindra Jadeja last week when RCB played against Chennai Super Kings.

Brar finally had the last laugh when he dismissed Maxwell on the first ball of the over. The left-arm bowler bowled one on the off-stump and the Australian star made space to bowl a shot on the off side. However, Maxwell ended up cutting the ball into the stumps.
Virat Kohli stars with the bat:
Talking about the game, Virat Kohli starred with the bat as RCB beat PBKS by four wickets to register their first win in IPL 2024. Chasing 177, RCB crossed the finish line with four balls remaining. While the likes of Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell failed to get going, Virat Kohli stood tall at one end.
He scored 77 runs off 49 balls with the help of 11 fours and two sixes and was dismissed by Harshal Patel in the 16th over. Towards the end, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) made brilliant cameos to propel RCB to a thrilling victory.
