Shreyas Iyer played an astonishing knock in the ongoing fifth T20I against Australia. The last match between the two teams will take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where India have been asked to bat first.

Shreyas Iyer played a solitary hand for his team in Bengaluru as he played a sensational innings and took his team to a fighting total. Even though wickets fell at the other end, he made sure to play till the end and kept his team in the hunt in the last game of the series.

Shreyas Iyer came to bat in the fourth over and played an amazing knock. He didn’t get the desired support from his teammates, but he made sure to keep the race pace under control. On a pitch where all the Indian batsmen struggled, he stood tall and played blind.

However, Shreyas Iyer’s stay at the crease was interrupted by Nathan Ellis in the last over. The fast bowler bowled a pointed yorker on the stumps that reached to the middle stump. The batsman tried to swing but the ball caught the pads and then hit the stumps.

Shreyas Iyer finished with 53 runs off 37 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 143 and also hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His knock propelled India to a total of 160 runs. Apart from him, Jitesh Sharma (24) and Axar Patel (31) also contributed.

IND vs AUS: The more I can get him out of his hitting line, the harder it is for them – Tanveer Sangha after his heroics against India

Tanveer Sangha was the shining light for Australia in the fifth game. She returned with the figures of 1/26picking up the wicket of Rinku Singh.

Tanveer Sangha spoke about his bowling performance and said that batsmen taking risks is a reward for him. He also added that he is trying to bowl the line of stump. He explained:

“A little sticky, if you get to your length it’s hard to get it out of the square. Great delivery to spin the bowling. That’s the main thing with any wrist spinner: consistency. If a spinner can control his length, he can be very successful in most pitches in India. The more I can get him off their batting line, the harder it is for them. More risk for him, more advantage for me. “That’s what I tried to do against left-handers and tried to attack the stumps against right-handers.”

India already sealed the series 3-1. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to defend the total of 160 runs or not.
