Steve Smith was dismissed by Jamie Overton in the 10th over. The pacer bowled a short wide ball outside off, which the batsman headed for the late cut. He didn’t get the space he wanted and ended up hitting right at the defender at short third man.
After their wicket, the Sydney Sixers lost the first few wickets and were left reeling at 92/5. The onus will now fall on Lachlan Shaw and Ben Dwarhuis to take the team home and help them register another victory in the ongoing Big Bash League 2024-25.
