During a recent interaction, Suresh Raina was asked, “Your team needs 20 runs in the last over, who would you pick as your batting partner?”
Responding to this, Suresh Raina confidently replied, “MS Dhoni.” The former Indian cricketer was offered options. However, he did not need the suggestions and said, “I don’t want options!”

Suresh Raina also recently spoke about MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League.
The former Indian all-rounder said that he wants the wicket-keeper-batsman to play for one more season as he needs to guide Ruturaj Gaikwad for another year so that he can take charge of the team completely.
Ahead of IPL 2024, MS Dhoni stepped down as captain of the Chennai Super Kings and handed over the leadership of the team to Ruturaj Gaikwad. But the team did not put up the kind of performance he would have wanted in the league.
Even though Dhoni continued to guide Ruturaj throughout the season, Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs.
They finished the league phase in fifth place in the points table. This was the fourth time they failed to qualify for the top four in the points table.
Dhoni did not bat well in IPL 2024 as he was battling a knee injury during the last IPL season. He came out to bat in the last few overs but made a huge impact for the team by hitting stunning sixes to entertain the fans.
Dhoni scored 161 runs in 14 matches and managed a staggering strike rate of 220.25. But many questions remain about the future. It has not been clear whether the wicketkeeper-batsman will play in the upcoming edition or not. He said that he would take the decision in the best interest of the team.
