Indian national cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav continued the tradition and presented the trophy to the youngsters after winning the five-match series against the Australian national cricket team at home.

The Men in Blue won the first two matches by 2 wickets and 44 runs respectively, before losing the third T20I by 5 wickets. They came back strong in the next game and won it by 20 runs to clinch the series.

India then won the fifth and final T20I by 6 runs to clinch the series 4-1. Suryakumar Yadav & Co. were invited to bat first in the last match and scored 160/8 on the board, taking advantage of Shreyas Iyer’s half-century and good contributions from Jitesh Sharma and Axar Patel.

Defending the target, the Indian players did a marvelous job and restricted Australia to 154/8 to seal a victory in an exciting time. Notably, Arshdeep Singh bowled an absolutely stupendous last over while defending 10 runs against star wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade.

After the victory, Suryakumar Yadav collected the trophy and handed it over to Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma, who were offered center stage, and the duo celebrated along with all the players.

After the match, captain Suryakumar Yadav stated that the players did a good job and expressed his satisfaction with their performance. Suryakumar Yadav said:

“It was a good series. The way the boys demonstrated their skills was commendable. We wanted not to be afraid, we wanted to enjoy when we were in the middle. I told them, “do the right thing and just enjoy your game,” and they did the same. Very happy with that.”

He added that chasing a total of 160-175 is always tough at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Suryakumar said:

“If he (Washington Sundar) had been there, he would have been a complement. In Chinnaswamy, 200+ is easier to chase. 160-175 is a complicated narrative here. After 10 overs, I told the boys we had a game.”

The Indian national cricket team will next be seen in action when it tours South Africa for an all-format series.
