The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, received a warm welcome from their fans upon their arrival in India. The team took part in an open-top bus victory parade down Mumbai’s Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium, where hundreds of thousands of people welcomed their heroes.

The atmosphere was surreal as the crowd waited for hours to catch a glimpse of their beloved stars and chanted their names non-stop. The players also thanked the fans for their support and entertained them. It turned out to be a memorable moment for the fans, who had gathered after the historic win.

During the roadshow, fans chanted the names of all the players present on the bus. Not just the players, but also the name of the head coach, Rahul Dravid.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Suryakumar Yadav can be seen asking the crowd to chant loudly. As the crowd starts chanting Suryakumar’s name, he asks them to chant the name of Rohit Sharma, who was standing next to him on the team bus.

Both Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma had a fantastic tournament with the bat and both played match-winning innings when the team needed it. The partnership between these two in the semi-final against England will be remembered for a long time as it enabled India to post a total above par on the board. Rohit Sharma finished the tournament as the second highest run-scorer with 257 runs in 8 matches at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70.

The players were clearly overwhelmed by the support and thanked the crowd for this great celebration. After the victory parade, the Indian team, along with the support staff, proceeded to the Wankhede Stadium where they were congratulated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The players danced on the ground to entertain the fans. The dance celebrations were led by the senior players of the team, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The players danced their hearts out while the fans also enjoyed the moments.

Indian team meets Prime Minister

Before reaching Mumbai, the Indian team landed in New Delhi from Barbados, after which the world champions were taken to the ITC Maurya. After a few hours of rest, the team headed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

The players interacted with the Prime Minister and discussed some of the tournament highlights. They then left for Mumbai where they were welcomed by the fans.

After India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20Is. A day later, another veteran player Ravindra Jadeja also announced his retirement from the format.
