Sarfaraz received his Test cap from Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Day 1 of the IND vs ENG third Test match. Sarfaraz Khan played 62 innings off 66 balls and hit 9 fours and 1 six during his stay at the crease. However, it was an unfortunate end to Sarfaraz’s innings after he was run out due to his partner Ravindra Jadeja’s mistake. Jadeja hit a shot off a James Anderson delivery and called for a run, however, he turned away after calling for a run and by then it was too late for Sarfaraz Khan to get back into his crease.

Sarfaraz Khan could not return to the non-striker’s side due to a shot put by England fielder Mark Wood, Sarfaraz had to return to the dressing room.

Sarfaraz Khan has scored many runs in domestic cricket and has hit many hundreds. Sarfaraz was not included in the team despite his brilliant performance in the Ranji Trophy, and the main reason behind the same was expected to be his fitness.

However, the wait is over for Sarfaraz Khan in the IND vs ENG Test series. Sarfaraz was included in the team as a replacement for Virat Kohli and then he was also included in the team for the last three matches. Sarfaraz, who replaced Shreyas Iyer, proved that his selection was correct and he would expect to play the same way in the second innings as he did in the first.

India would look to extend their score to a massive first innings score and put the visitors under control. The five-match series is currently tied 1-1.

England have shown a brilliant comeback in the Test series so far. The English batsmen have played against the Indian spinners much better than what was predicted before the series. Furthermore, the visitors were able to win the first Test match by 28 runs and put pressure on the hosts.
