It doesn’t matter if Virat Kohli plays in Bengaluru or any other city during the IPL, he always receives love from the fans. The torchbearer of Indian cricket for over a decade, the former Indian captain is one of the most loved cricketers in the country.

As expected, even fans of rival teams do not hesitate to express their admiration for him during the IPL. And it was evident once again on Wednesday (April 11) when Royal Challengers Bengaluru took on Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

While fans would have liked to see a good knock from Virat Kohli, they were disappointed as he was out for just three runs. And then when he took the field, fans came up with a request for the batting superstar. Fans were heard shouting: Kohli ko bowling do (bowl to Kohli).”

Last year, fans chanted this very phrase during the ODI World Cup and Virat Kohli finally obliged by bowling three overs in India’s final league match against the Netherlands in Bengaluru. However, this time the 35-year-old ignored it and apologized to fans by covering his ears.

Watch how Virat Kohli reacts to fans’ chants:

Talking about the game, RCB finished their innings at 196/8 in the allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. The three-time finalists got off to a poor start as they lost the wickets of Virat Kohli and Will Jacks in the powerplay. However, half-centuries from Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik took them to the grand total.

It is also the first time RCB has reached the 190-run mark this season. In response, MI were 169 for 2 in just 13 overs at the time of writing this report. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav batted for the hosts.
