Indian batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had a brilliant reaction after seeing a reimagined poster of the famous Bollywood film ‘Lagaan’.

Both veteran batsmen are currently in Sri Lanka with the rest of the Indian squad for the ongoing three-match ODI series. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made their long-awaited return to the 50-overs format after a gap of nearly 10 months. Prior to the ongoing series, their last ODI appearance had been in November last year when they played in the ODI World Cup final against Australia.

As for the incident, it happened during the ongoing ODI series. The veteran batsmen saw the hoardings just before entering the field for the match. Virat Kohli and a few other Indian players were standing near the hoarding as they waited for the captain and the other players to join them.

While waiting, Virat Kohli spotted the poster in the stands and made sure to show it to Rohit as well. As soon as Rohit came out, Kohli was seen pointing out the poster to his teammate. Kohli was struggling to control his laughter and Rohit too laughed after seeing the poster in which lead actor Aamir Khan’s face was replaced with the face of the Indian captain.

As for the ongoing ODI series, India will look to bounce back and win the upcoming third ODI against Sri Lanka to avoid a series defeat. The hosts are currently leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the second ODI. The first game had ended in a draw after both teams finished their innings at 240.

In the second game, Sri Lanka scored 240 for 9 before bowling out India for 208 to record a much-needed win. In both games, Rohit scored quick-fire centuries but other batsmen, including Kohli, did not perform well. Rohit scored a fifty off 33 balls in the first game before smashing a fifty off 29 balls in the second. The captain will look to continue his excellent form and guide the team to a win in the third ODI.

Earlier in the tour, India had defeated Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.
