Indian national cricket team batsman Virat Kohli had quite an eventful day in the third ODI against the Sri Lanka national cricket team. The final match of the three-match series between the teams was held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday.
Virat Kohli looked in a furious mood during the third ODI against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
The Indian batsman during the first innings was at his aggressive best as he, along with Mohammed Siraj, took on opposing batsmen Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama.
Kohli was standing right behind Mohammed Siraj when his bowler got into a verbal spat. The frontline batsman held the wicket of Sadeera Samarawickrama right in the face of Kusal Mendis, who was standing at the non-striker’s end, and silenced the batsman for the argument with the fast bowler.
However, if this was not enough, Virat Kohli, while batting, had a heated moment with Sri Lanka national cricket team bowler Asitha Fernando. After the batsman He defended the long ball outside off, the Indian batsman and the pacer exchanged death glares with each other, increasing the intensity.
However, once the match was over, Kohli’s sporting character came through as during the post-match handshake with Asitha Fernando, he was seen in a very good mood. The batsman was seen flashing a smile at the pacer and also exchanging a few words with him.

Virat Kohli did not have a great performance with the bat in the third game against Sri Lanka. The right-hander was again trapped lbw against the spin bowler and could not lead his team to victory. He once again perished after having a run-out when he was dismissed by spinner Dunith Wellalage.
Dunith Wellalage bowled an arm ball which Virat Kohli pushed to block as he played through the spin.
The bat was miles away from the platform, and was hit on the front leg. The batsman finished with an innings of 20 runs in 18 balls, and after his wicket, India lost wickets in an instant.
India lost an ODI series to Sri Lanka for the first time in 1997
After Virat Kohli retired, things did not go in India’s favour as they kept losing wickets rapidly. Sri Lanka national cricket team captain Dunith Wellalage ran through India’s top order and middle order and took five wickets in a flash to take the game away from the opposition.
In the end, Washington Sundar continued to fight for his team. The all-rounder played a valuable innings of 30 runs in 25 balls.
The Indian national cricket team was bowled out for 138 runs and then lost the game by a massive margin of 110 runs and in 27 overs.
This was the first time that the Indian National Cricket Team lost the ODI series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team since 1997.
The first match of the series ended in a draw as the visitors failed to reach the target of 231 runs. In the second match, India also failed to reach the target of 241 runs and lost the match by 32 runs.
