Virat Kohli To Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Indian national cricket team batsman Virat Kohli grabbed headlines on the second day of the ongoing first Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The match between the two teams is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli was the centre of attention on the second day of the Test against the Bangladesh team. The batsman was extremely energetic on the field and was seen in a very good mood while batting and was also seen having some conversations with the opposing team.

Kohli was seen having casual conversations with Shakib Al Hasan, as he hilariously asked him if he had become Lasith Malinga because he was bowling yorkers. While this caught the attention of many, he came up with another epic moment with the microphone in his hand.

While Kohli was batting, Mehidy Hasan Miraz mocked the Indian batsman and told him to hit six. However, the Indian National Cricket Team batsman’s response left many in splits. The right-hander told him that the all-rounder should not ask him to hit six when he gave a strike to Nahid Rana while he was batting.

Virat Kohli was heard saying, “Khud ne toh nahid to hit de diya, ab keh ra six maro.”

At that point, Virat Kohli was batting on 7 off 15 balls and was looking solid at the crease. The right-hander bowled some accurate shots in his subsequent innings and the way he was batting, it looked like he would end up making a big score.

Virat Kohli scores 17 runs in second innings

But that wasn’t the case as Kohli again departed after having had a run-out with the bat. The batsman ended up scoring 17 runs off 37 balls and also hit two boundaries in his innings. But he would have been gutted by the way he got out.

Kohli was trapped lbw by Mehidy Hasan Miraz but had he opted for DRS, he would not have been out. After he returned, the ultra edge showed a spike and left the entire Indian dressing room dejected.

Although Kohli did not have a great performance with the bat, he achieved a huge milestone. He became the second player from the Indian National Cricket Team after Sachin Tendulkar to reach 12,000 runs in his own country.

Virat Kohli achieved the feat in his 219th match for the team in India. He averaged 58.84 runs, along with 38 hundreds and 59 fifties. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar scored 14,192 runs in 258 matches, averaging 50.32, along with 42 hundreds and 70 fifties in India.

Having scored scores of 6 and 17 in the first Test against Bangladesh, Kohli will be hoping to perform better with the bat in the second Test. It would be extremely crucial for the team to move forward with 9 more Tests around the corner.
