Team India captain Rohit Sharma roared with joy after the review bore fruit and dismissed Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam in the second Test. Fast bowler Akash Deep convinced Rohit Sharma to take the review after trapping the batsman LBW in the first session of Day 1 of the ongoing Test match.
The second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh is underway at Kanpur’s Green Park. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were not comfortable with the new ball on the opening day. Bumrha and Siraj went wicketless in their first spell before Akash Deep provided a breakthrough.
Akash continued his dominance in the match. The right-arm pacer also picked up the wicket of Shadman Islam, who scored 24 off 36 balls with the help of four boundaries. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team lost two early wickets for just 29 runs on the board in the first innings of the Test match.

Akash Deep managed to trap Shadman Islam in front of the stumps. However, the on-field umpire ruled the decision in favor of the Bangladesh batsman. The 27-year-old fast bowler looked confident and convinced Rohit Sharma to review the decision. But Rohit spoke to Pant before pointing out the ‘T’.
Initially there were fears that the ball would not reach the stumps or that the umpire would take it. However, the DRS showed three reds, prompting Shadman to return to the pavilion. Most of the Indian cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, were shocked by the decision before starting the celebration.
