Watch: Virat Kohli’s ‘bail exchange’ stunt fails miserably in Adelaide Test

Indian national cricket team batsman Virat Kohli has been making headlines ever since he arrived in Australia. The batsman did not start with the bat in the ongoing second Test, which is being held at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, and which began on Friday (December 6).

Virat Kohli didn’t get down to business with the bat but made sure to be active on the field from the start. The first batsman since he entered the field for the second innings was loaded and was seen lifting his players.

Virat Kohli even made sure to reach the ears of the Australian players and was seen sledging. The lead batsman was also seen backing the Indian pacers and encouraging them while the opposing batsmen were on the bowlers.

Not only this, Virat Kohli also came up with Stuart Broad’s bail change trick as the Indian National Cricket Team’s pacers struggled to take wickets. Before the start of the 31st, when Bumrah was about to attack, Virat Kohli swapped bails to change the team’s fortunes. However, the trick didn’t work.

Virat Kohli fails with the bat in the first innings and scores 7 runs off 8 balls

Virat Kohli had a bad day with the bat in Adelaide, which is a happy hunting ground for him. After scoring a century in the last game, he was expected to put in a similar effort in the next game and help his team win the second one as well.

But that was not the case as Virat Kohli returned to the cabin early. The batsman managed just 7 runs off 8 balls and took one boundary in his innings before he was removed by Mitchell Starc, who then picked the fifer, his 15th in Tests.

Overall, it was not a great day for the Indian national cricket team, who have a 1-0 lead in the series. They went all out for 180 runs as no batsman could get past the 50 run mark. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the highest run-getter with his score of 42 runs and took the team to a fighting total.

Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne put Australia in a strong position in the first innings

After India added 180 runs, they were expected to trouble the Australian batsmen with the ball. However, that was not the case. Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) batted superbly well and put pressure on the bowlers.

They added an unbeaten 62 runs for the second wicket as Australia finished the first day at 86 for one, losing by 94 runs. India would be willing to turn things around tomorrow and get back in the game.
