Yashasvi Jaiswal on Saturday (September 21) took a brilliant catch to send back Zakir Hasan in the second innings of the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Bangladesh had set themselves a target of 515 runs and had started well. Zakir Hasan looked particularly impressive as he was batting with a very positive intent. The left-handed batsman, who had been bowled out for 3 runs in the first innings, got going in the second innings by hitting two fours off Jasprit Bumrah in the first over.
In the sixth over, he hit two fours and a six off Mohammed Siraj that left even Rohit Sharma impressed. By the end of the second session, Bangladesh had slipped to 56/0 in 13 overs. India needed something special to break the deadlock between Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam and Yashasvi Jaiswal rose to the occasion.
The Indian opener played a brilliant play to send Zakir back and give his team a much-needed breakthrough. On the second delivery of the 18th over bowled by Bumrah, Zakir sent the ball towards the gully.
At first, it looked like the ball would go past Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, the opening batsman dove to his left and took a stunning one-handed catch to send Zakir back. The Bangladesh opener departed after scoring 33 runs off 47 balls. His knock was studded with five fours and a six.
