England captain Ben Stokes was left utterly dejected after Zak Crawley made an unfortunate dismissal in the second Test match against the West Indies National Cricket Team. The penultimate match of the series between the teams is underway at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
England have made a good start with the bat in the second innings. After finishing the West Indies innings on 457 runs, openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley have been in good form and with a good batting surface in contention, they were expected to get off to a flying start.
But his dreams were shattered when Zak Crawley committed an unfortunate dismissal. The opening batsman was out in the second over of the innings as West Indies took an early wicket. The batsman, through no fault of his own, returned to the hut early as he scored just 3 runs off 3 balls.
On the fourth ball of the second over, Jayden Seales bowled a full delivery heading towards the outside off stump. Ben Duckett, who was on strike, bowled an arrow-straight drive and, to Zak Crawley’s dismay, the ball deviated towards the non-striker’s stumps towards mid-off.
West Indies called for a rather discreet run-out and the third umpire, after reviewing several replays, showed that Jayden Seales had touched the ball with his fingertips before it crashed into the stumps of the player not in the striker’s position. Zak Crawley was a long way from his crease and had to walk a long way back to the pavilion.
England captain Ben Stokes, who was sitting in the dressing room, was not impressed with the way Zak Crawley walked off the field. He shook his head in disbelief as England lost their first wicket in the second innings by just 8 runs and inside the second over.

Zak Crawley did not have the kind of performance he would have wanted in the Test. The opening batsman bagged a duck in the first innings. He would have been keen to make an impact in the second innings but it was not meant to be as he got out early and managed to score just three runs in the game across both innings.
Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope score second consecutive half-century in Test cricket
After Zak Crawley retired, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope took control of the West Indies national cricket team. The duo have been sensational with the bat and have batted aggressively, putting the bowlers under pressure with their quick run-scoring ability.
Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope, who were sensational in the first innings, have continued their good form in the ongoing game. They have put up a second consecutive 100-run partnership in the ongoing game and have helped England take the lead in the second innings. Both of them have scored half-centuries and look set to deliver a big knock.
