Kolkata Knight Riders Captain (KKR), Ajinkya Rahane, explained the reasoning behind not promoting Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the batting alignment against Gujarat Titans (GT) in an IPL 2025 match on Monday. Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a 39 -run defeat against Gujarat Titans in the Eden gardens on Monday to succumb to his fifth defeat this season.

Ajinkya Rahane speaks after KKR loss against GT
“This format is about being brave as a dough, you can’t think too much about the past, just learn from mistakes and take a risk, have a positive mentality. If you think about leaving, it will come out,” Rahane said after the game.
“Instead, you must think about scoring races or reach limits. We have quality batters in the media, especially, back but you have to be brave,” he added.
Ajinkya Rahane was satisfied with the way Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit, but admitted that the situation of the party demanded that other batters make the order. That plan, however, was failed as Vewnkatesh Iyer (14), Rinku Singh (17) and Andre Russell (21) could not capitalize on their beginnings. The trio wickts left Kolkata Knight Riders in trouble with almost no way back to the game.
“It is good to see Angrkish hit very well. Today it was a situation that we wanted to push the other batters,” concluded Ajinkya Rahane.
