Why is Manimaran Siddharth not at Lucknow Super Giants playing XI for SRH vs LSG IPL 2025 Clash?

He mentions it as an impact player.

Manimaran Siddharth, who shone with a shocking spell on the flat track in Vizag against Delhi Capitals (DC), was out of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) playing XI for his clash against SR in the Premier League India (IPL) 2025. Tamil Nadu’s yarn had 2/39 figures in four overs. Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs dismissed well established in the game against DC.

However, Siddharth is outside the SRH. Lucknow has chosen to play an extra batter at Abdul Samad in a pristine batting wickt in Hyderabad.

Why does Manimaran Siddharth stay out of LSG playing XI?

LSG included Siddharth as an impact player in his alignment. However, with Rishabh Pant choosing play first, it was surprising to see the extra mass in the XI and Siddharth outside.

Lucknow Super Giants (confirmed playing XI): Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (W/C), Abdul Samad, David Miller, Ayush Badoni, Shardul Thakur, Rai Bishni, Avesh Khan, Digvechi Rathi, Prince Yadav.

LSG IMPACT Sub: Shahbaz Ahmed, Manimaran Siddharth, Mitchell Marsh, Himmat Singh, Akash Maharaj Singh.

In fact, LSG has left Shahbaz Ahmed and Siddharth in the bank. Avesh Khan, an additional rhythm option, has returned to the XI after an injury. The fact that SRH has a batting alignment full of energy on a favorable surface for batting could have dissuaded LSG to play the two left arm spins.

Both Shahbaz and Siddharth are left arm spinning spins that turn the ball into left -handed. SRH has three powerful lefties among the first three: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Isehan Kishan. This could be one of the reasons why LSG has chosen to go for the additional rhythm option.
