Proteas face an important crisis of the Captaincy before the semifinal of Champions Trophy 2025 and could probably have a new leader in the decisive knockout clash.
This is because the regular captain Temba Bavum is currently sick, which forced him to leave the group of the group stage that he must win against England today (March 1).
On the other hand, Aiden Markram, who assumed leadership duties in the absence of Bavuma against the three lions, also suffered a similar destiny.
Markram was forced to the margin, after having to leave the field due to an injury to the hamstrings during the 31 of the entrances of England.
With two of its leaders currently not in Peak Health, there is still the possibility that South Africa can have a new captain in the semifinals.
