Indian batsman Rishabh Pant suffered a fatal car accident in December 2022. Pant suffered multiple injuries and had to undergo multiple surgeries. Now, almost a year later, Pant is undergoing his rehabilitation period at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Rishabh had to miss several tournaments including the Indian Premier League, ODI World Cup and Asia Cup.

However, the co-owner of Delhi Capitals’ GMR group, mentioned in an interview to ANI that the franchise is paying special attention to Rishabh Pant’s fitness. The CEO further mentioned that there is a possibility that Pant could return to the field in the 2024 Indian Premier League.

“Rishabh Pant can play IPL this year, we are focusing a lot on him and hope he is found on the field this season,” the GMR CEO told ANI.

Rishabh Pant has great shot quality and his wicket-keeping skills have also improved over time. Pant was seen as MS Dhoni’s successor as he too was a brilliant player batting at 5 and 6. Rishabh Pant will also be in the eyes of the Indian cricket team selectors if he is available for the World Cup T20 2024.

The Indian cricket team showed a brilliant performance during the IND vs AFG T20I series and whitewashed the opposition 3-0. India have not won a T20 World Cup in the last 16 years and will aim to bring the trophy home. Rohit had already scored two consecutive ducks in the first two games of the series and showed a brilliant comeback in the third match.

Rohit Sharma hit his fifth ton in T20I cricket and became the first batsman to achieve the milestone. Sharma’s form ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 is a bright sign for the Indian team and he has once again become the favorite to lift the trophy.
