Will Virat Kohli break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international hundreds? Dinesh Karthik’s honest opinion

Former India batsman Dinesh Karthik has shared his views on the possibility of Virat Kohli equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket.

Virat Kohli has created and shattered numerous batting records in his illustrious career so far. The Indian batting superstar is one of, if not the best, batsman across all formats of his generation. Very few players have managed to maintain the level of consistency that Virat Kohli has in international cricket.

Can he reach 100 centuries in international cricket? Well, Dinesh Karthik believes that his former India and IPL teammate has a good chance of achieving it. The former wicket-keeper shared his views on the topic while answering a few questions from fans. One of the fans asked if Kohli could become the second player to score 100 centuries.

In response, Dinesh Karthik claimed that while Kohli still needs 20 hundreds to achieve the incredible feat, he can do so if he manages to play for at least four years. The former cricketer-turned-commentator also said that Kohli would play in the 2027 ODI World Cup and has a strong chance of hitting 100 hundreds.

“He is already 80 years old so he has 20 more years left, which means he has at least four years left. I am sure he will play in the next World Cup so there are every chances of him doing it. Why not?” Dinesh Karthik said on Cricbuzz.

Kohli has so far scored 80 hundreds in 530 matches. He is the second player after Tendulkar to hit 80 hundreds in international cricket. The former India captain achieved the incredible feat last year during the World Cup match against Sri Lanka in Mumbai. It was also his 50th hundred in ODIs as he broke Tendulkar’s record for most hundreds in the 50-over format. Kohli has scored 29 hundreds in Tests and one in T20Is.
