Indian national cricket team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved a great feat for the team in the history of Test cricket. The left-hander now has the most runs for the team in the longest format of the game after 10 games, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar who had 978 runs.

Indian national cricket team batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the feat in the ongoing first Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The opening match of the series between the teams began on Thursday (September 19) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a good performance with the bat in the Test match against Bangladesh. The left-hander played a crucial innings for his team in the first innings, where batting looked very difficult and the Indian team lost the early wickets, including the big names.

Jaiswal played a magnificent innings as he left the ball quite well and made sure to block one end. The young batsman played some great shots in his innings and made sure to get his team out of trouble as wickets kept falling at the other end.

Jaiswal hit a spectacular half-century and gave control to the Indian innings. The opening batsman scored 57 runs in the first innings. He looked good in the second innings but could not continue as he lost by just 10 runs, ending with 67 runs in the game.

After the two innings, Yashasvi now has 1,094 runs from his first 10 Test matches. He is ahead of Sunil Gavaskar (978) and Vinod Kambli (937) in terms of Indians. He has the fourth-most runs overall after the 10 games in the history of the longest format of the game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been top-notch in his short Test career so far. The young batsman made his debut after the final of the 2023 ICC World Test Championship and has since secured a place in the team. He made his debut against the West Indies, scoring 171 runs off 387 balls. After that, his best came in the Test series against the England National Cricket Team.

Jaiswal was at his best and looked spectacular as he amassed 712 runs, including two double hundreds. His astonishing effort with the bat enabled the Indian national cricket team to win the series by a 4-1 margin.

Heading into the Test match against the Bangladesh national cricket team, India has taken command of the match. After bowling out the Bangladesh national cricket team for just 149 runs in reply to their 376 runs, they have batted well in the second innings. Shubman Gill (33*) and Rishabh Pant (12*) were at the crease as the hosts ended Day 2 at 81/3 and a massive 308-run lead on the board.
