Sreesanth has revealed that Gautam Gambhir continued to call him a fixer during the ugly altercation that took place during a Legends League cricket match on Wednesday (December 6). The incident took place during the Playoff between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants.
It all started in the final second of the game when Capitals captain Gautam Gambhir was taking on the pacer. S Sreesanth started with a wide delivery before being hit for a six and a four by his former India teammate. Similarly, when S Sreesanth bowled a dot delivery, he decided to stare at Gautam Gambhir for a long time, which did not go down well with the latter.
The former India opener did not say anything to the fast bowler but made his feelings clear with a hand gesture. Later in the game, the two were involved in another ugly heated exchange and came face to face before being separated by the players and the referee.. After the game ended, S Sreesanth posted a video criticizing Gautam Gambhir for using some nasty words against him. However, he did not reveal the exact words he said.
S Sreesanth reveals Gautam Gambhir’s words:
On Thursday (December 7), S Sreesanth took to Instagram to reveal the exact words Gautam Gambhir said to him. The former India pacer revealed that Gambhir kept calling him a fixer and even abused him on the field. He also claimed that the opener also abused the umpires when they tried to control him.
“I just wanted to come live and tell you everything clearly because instead of telling you each and every channel one by one, I just wanted to clarify things again. Yesterday I did not say what he called me.” said S Sreesanth before claiming that Gautam Gambhir is spreading negativity about him through his PR.
“He kept calling me, on live TV, I haven’t used a single bad word, I haven’t used a single abusive word to him, I just said ‘What are you saying?’ and I kept laughing sarcastically because he kept calling me ”Fixer, you’re a fixer, fuck you, fixer.‘.
“This is the language he used on live television. Even he used the same language with the referees when they tried to control him. “I just walked away but he kept saying the same word over and over.” he added.

In 2013, S Sreesanth along with his former IPL teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested by the Delhi Police on charges of spot-fixing. He was later banned for life by the BCCI disciplinary committee. In 2015, he was acquitted in the spot-fixing case before the Kerala High Court reinstated the lifetime ban in 2017.
However, in 2019, the Supreme Court of India “overturned” the lifetime ban imposed on him by the BCCI. The BCCI later reduced his ban to 7 years.
