"A new era begins in Indian cricket"- Twitter is abuzz with glee as India take 2-1 lead in Zimbabwe T20I

Fans on Twitter reacted after the Indian National Cricket Team took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. They won the third game of the series by 23 runs at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, India got off to a brutal start with the bat as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (36) and captain Shubman Gill (66) batted aggressively in the beginning. They added 67 runs for the opening duo and provided a great platform to the team.

Abhishek Sharma, batting third, failed to make an impact with the bat and scored ten runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad (49) put in a vital effort and along with captain Gill scored 72 runs for the third wicket.

Based on their partnership, India posted a total of 182 for four. For Zimbabwe, Sikander Raza and Blessing Muzarabani took two wickets each and bowled with an economy of around 6, while the rest of the bowlers were expensive.

Zimbabwe did not get off to a great start to the innings as they lost five wickets early on and were left reeling at 39 for five. India bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan took three wickets together and then Washington Sundar followed with two wickets.

But after that, Dion Myers (65*) and Clive Madande (37) dug in and put on 77 runs to get their team back into the game. After the latter was bowled out, Wellington Masakadza (18*) did his best and joined Dion Myers.

But the Indian bowlers were right and restricted the opposition to 159 for six and won the game by 23 runs. With the win, they took the lead in the series and are ahead by a margin of 2-1.
