During the same session, Babar Azam also expressed his admiration for former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. The star batsman spoke about how Sarfaraz backed him when he was still finding his feet in international cricket.
“Saifee bhai really likes my bats and they always tell him that it is my bat and you should choose another one for the match. Saifee bhai always supported us and today I am here because of Sarfaraz Ahmed.” Babar Azam said.
He also stated that winning the World Cup is the biggest dream of his life. Babar had a chance to win the ODI World Cup last year, but he failed to do so as captain. Soon after the tournament, he resigned as captain in all three formats. He has a chance to win the T20 World Cup this year and will be desperate to go all the way.
Currently, he is busy plying his trade in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He plays for Rangpur Riders in the competition. The right-handed batsman scored 157 runs in four matches in BPL 2024.
