Abhishek Sharma, playing in his second T20I, scored his maiden T20I century in a match-winning performance for India against Zimbabwe. His century in 47 balls helped India post a massive 234/2.

The left-hander hit seven fours and eight sixes and scored at a strike rate of over 200. In the process, he broke several records, previously held by some of the biggest names in world cricket.

In the end, India won the match by 100 runs as they bowled out Zimbabwe for 134 runs and defended their target with great professionalism. Mukesh Kumar took three wickets, Avesh Khan took three and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets to deliver a brilliant bowling performance.

India’s performance in the second T20I erased all the pain of their first T20I defeat. The series is now tied 1-1 with three matches left to play. The remaining three matches will be played on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

He was also awarded as the Man of the Match for his knock in the second T20I. In his post-match interaction, he spoke about his knock.

“I think my performance was pretty good. The defeat we had yesterday was not easy for us. I felt like today was my day and I took advantage of it. I think T20 is all about having momentum and I carried that through to the end,” Sharma said.

This was India’s seventh T20I win against Zimbabwe in 10 matches. One of the three losses came in this series.
