Afghan spinner Rashid Khan spoke about batting great Sachin Tendulkar meeting his team during the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. He stated that it was a dream for all the players in his team that the former India captain spent time with his team throughout the session.

Sachin Tendulkar made a surprise visit to the Afghanistan cricket team during the ICC World Cup 2023. The great batsman joined the team’s training session ahead of their match against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 6.

Sachin Tendulkar had an extensive session with the Afghanistan team players and was also seen having one-on-one interactions with several players. He was also seen relaying information related to the game and had a pep talk with the entire team before the game.

Sachin Tendulkar’s session seemed to have worked out quite well for the Afghanistan team as they were on the verge of defeating Australia before Glenn Maxwell scored a magnificent double century to pull his team out of the jaws of defeat. The Afghan team had taken control of the match, but the way Maxwell played, it was difficult to stop them.

Rashid Khan spoke about his meeting with Sachin Tendulkar and stated that the entire team learned a lot from the experience. He revealed that batting well recognized the team’s abilities and backed them to beat big teams. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, he explained:

“That was kind of a dream for every player that he [Tendulkar] He came in and gave us that time. He didn’t just come for about five or ten minutes. She was there throughout the entire session and that was the nice thing. And we have learned a lot from that experience.

Rashid Khan further revealed that Sachin Tendulkar’s advice helped not only the youngsters but even the seniors in the team. He added how the great batsman spoke individually to both the bowlers and batsmen. Speaking about the same, he added:

“The advice he gave and the ideas he shared about the wicket helped not just the youngsters but everyone. The knowledge he gave about Wankhede really helped: as a bowling unit, he said, you have to try harder in the first five or six overs because he can take advantage of conditions that are favorable for bowlers.

“For the batsmen, he said, take it easy in the initial five or six overs. He said it was good to take the time because once the top order has been established we can accelerate and get great runs.” He concluded.
