The England cricket team pulled off a major feat in the game’s longest format after they defeated Australia with 386 runs in the first innings of the ongoing 2023 first Test of Ashes at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
England took all 10 wickets from the opposition for the 26th time in a row. Ollie Robinson and Stuart Broad each contributed three wickets while Moeen Ali picked two wickets along with James Anderson and Ben Stokes who bagged a wicket each as they doubled Australia’s innings by 386 runs, taking a 7-run lead. .

The team led by Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bat first. They continued an aggressive style of play and racked up 393 runs on the board before making a surprise statement. In the second try England were not very good with the bat as they did not hit well.

But vital 40s from Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Harry Brook helped them post a total of 273 runs in the second innings, giving Australia a target of 280 runs to chase. Whether or not they can beat the opposition for the 27th time in a row remains to be seen.
