On Sunday, July 2, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced a 15-member squad for the third Test of the ongoing 2023 Ashes series against the Australia National Cricket Team.
The team’s announcement came the same day after the Ben Stokes-led side suffered a 43-run defeat to the visitors at London’s iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The England National Cricket Team got off to the worst possible start as they lost 4 quick wickets and trailed to 4-45. Ben Duckett (83) batted exceptionally well alongside his skipper Ben Stokes, who was playing cautiously.
After the dismissals of Duckett and Jonny Bairstow, Stokes unleashed his aggressive avatar and smashed Australian bowlers all over the park. The England captain was involved in a century-long partnership with Stuart Broad that completely changed the momentum towards the Three Lions.

However, Stokes was unable to repeat his 2019 Headingley exploits as he was cleaned up by leading pacer Josh Hazlewood. Stokes came out after scoring 155 runs off 214 balls, with 9 fours and 9 sixes.
