England cricketer James Anderson spoke about his experience playing the first Test of the Ashes 2023 in Edgbaston. He said that he proves that he did not once enjoy bowling and that it was not his favorite game at all.

The first Test of the Ashes 2023 kept everyone on their toes as every single ball in the game had something written on it. The competition between bat and ball was fascinating, but in the end, it was Australia who emerged victorious and took a 1-0 lead.

While it was an exciting game for almost everyone, veteran James Anderson had to work hard. The right-arm pacer didn’t look into rhythm with him and he threw poor lines and lengths. He was quite vocal about how the tone was poor and even said that if all surfaces were the same, he would have finished his series.

James Anderson took just 1 wicket in the whole game and he was not looking good. Poor pace from him even cost England, as captain Ben Stokes was forced to share a new ball with Ollie Robinson. That did not go well for the team as in the end they were unable to take the wickets.

James Anderson admitted he didn’t enjoy a single ball, but the last few days have been good for him. His body has recovered well and he is flying for next week.

He explained: I didn’t enjoy one of them. To be honest, it wasn’t my favorite test match to play. Obviously, you want to contribute to the team and I didn’t feel like it was my best week. For me, the last few days have been good to be able to disconnect, let the body recover and go flying next week.

England added Rehan Ahmed to the team as a cover for moeen ali, who was injured in the first Test at Edgbaston. The youngster has done well in the game he has played and would look to add more to his tally at Lord’s.

James Anderson said that Rehan Ahmed has a good head on his shoulders and has the ability to learn quickly. He praised his temperament and backed him up to do a good job.

he continued. “If anyone is that age, it’s him. He has a very good head on his shoulders. He has done very well in all forms of cricket when he came along. He is a quick learner, he has the skills to play at this level and he also has the temperament. I know he’s covered, but even if the ball is thrown to him, I’m sure he’ll do a great job.”

The second Test of the Ashes 2023 is scheduled to take place on June 28. England would be hoping for a better result in the second game and level the series at 1-1.
