Former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen spoke about Joe Root’s reverse scoops in the first Ashes Test 2023 ongoing at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. He believes the batsman could have developed those shots during his stint with Rajasthan Royals in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Joe Root has had a fantastic test match with the bat at Edgbaston. The batsman snapped a sensational unbeaten ton in the early innings and then followed up with another decent hit, picking up 46 runs in the second innings against the threatening Australian attack.

Kevin Pietersen said the sky is the limit for Joe Root and praised his work ethic, saying he wants to get better every morning. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“The sky is the limit for Root with the brains he has and also with his work ethic, which is like no other. With 11,000 Test runs he could say, ‘I’ve got enough, I could go around, get a hundred, watch everyone warm up the next morning and play football with the lads. No no. Every morning Root is out there wanting to get better. We are lucky to see a teacher and may that continue for a long time.”
