Things are getting intense in the first 2023 Ashes Test underway at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Both England and Australia are neck-and-neck, but the Pat Cummins-led have emerged with a step up in the short run of the game on Day 3.
England in a surprise decision declared their innings at 393 runs. But they bowled well and defeated Australia by just 386 runs, taking a 7-run lead. However, things have gone drastically against the trail as the rain has created suitable conditions for fast bowling.

The Australian bowlers have made the most of the conditions and have taken two quick wickets, leaving England going down at 28/2. But the credit for Ben Duckett’s wicket goes more to Cameron Green, who made an impressive catch at Gully and sent the batsman bagging just 7 runs.

Pat Cummins bowled a sharp delivery over a good length which held the line with the angle around the wicket. Ben Duckett tried to punch him and played loose and ended up getting a lead in the gully, where Cameron Green ripped off an impressive one-handed diving catch to his left.

Most notably, Cameron Green made two impressive catches on Gully against India in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. The mirror fielding effort from him was the turning point of the game and helped Australia win the title.

Ashes 2023: Australia huddle for 386 runs in their first innings
Aside from Usman Khawaja (141), other Australian batsmen look scratchy on the pitch and lose their wickets at regular intervals. Travis Head managed to hit a half-century alongside Alex Carey, who scored 66 runs.
Ollie Robinson and Stuart Broad each contributed three wickets while Moeen Ali picked two wickets along with James Anderson and Ben Stokes who bagged a wicket each as England doubled Australia’s innings by 386 runs, taking a lead of 7 careers.
