Former Pakistan player Ahmed Shehzad has launched a scathing attack on Babar Azam, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan team for misleading Pakistani fans. Ahmed Shehzad has claimed that sad stories about players after a big defeat only serve to gain sympathy from fans.
Ahmed Shehzad’s words come after Pakistan’s recent defeat against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan lost to India by 6 runs in a low-scoring encounter. Babar Azam & Co. failed to reach a target of 120 runs in the match in New York.
Babar Azam didn’t let anyone become a team – Ahmed Shehzad
During a program on Pakistani news channel Geo News, former Pakistan all-rounder Ahmed Shehzad attacked Babar Azam for his poor decisions that led to Pakistan’s defeat against India in the match.
“You have been leading the team for the last 5 years. You don’t have a single middle-order batsman. You don’t have a single all-terrain vehicle. You didn’t let anyone become a team. You just wanted a team. “I’m sorry, excuse my word,” the 32-year-old said.
“You just wanted a team. A team where you play 15 overs from the top and they come from the bottom, close their eyes and keep hitting. Is this how a team was formed? No,” he further added.

Ahmed Shehzad attacks Babar Azam and PCB for misleading Pakistan fans
Ahmed Shehzad, who represented Pakistan from 2009 to 2019, also added that the Pakistan Cricket Board has hired agencies that create sad stories about players to gain sympathy from fans. “You have ruined everything. And after that, what do you do? You have maintained agencies. You make strategies with them, that when you lose, they say, Babar Azam starts jumping out of bed. Shadab did not eat for 4 days. It wasn’t shopping. “He doesn’t answer anyone’s phone,” he further stated.
Shehzad also added that these stories are just dramas and were only created to mislead Pakistani fans.
“These are all dramas. You are fooling people. The team agencies that have maintained do these things. They do it out of sympathy. Then listen to me.” Watch the full video below.

India crushes Pakistan to win two games in ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Talking about the India vs Pakistan game, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Men in Green defeated India by just 119-10 in 19 overs and Rishabh Pant scored the highest 42 runs. However, Pakistan’s batsmen failed to reach the target later on.
Opener Mohammad Rizwan played a decent knock of 31 as an opener. However, the rest of the batsmen could not cross the 15-run mark. Jasprit Bumrah picked a 3-wicket haul while other players showed classic teamwork to reduce Pakistan to 113-7 till the end.

Hardik Pandya got 2 wickets, Axar Patel got 1 wicket, while Arshdeep Singh picked 1 wicket. Apart from Arshdeep Singh (7.80), all six Indian bowlers had an economy of less than 6.
India won two out of two games in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier they crushed Ireland by 8 wickets. Pakistan has lost both of its matches so far, losing to the United States in its first match.
