Bangladesh appoint David Hemp as batting coach; rope in Andre Adams as bowling coach

The Bangladesh cricket team has seen quite a few changes in the coaching setup ahead of the Sri Lanka series. The nation’s cricket body has appointed David Hemp as the team’s batting coach, while former New Zealand player Andre Adams will join as bowling coach.

David Hemp has already been associated with Bangladesh Cricket for a while now. He has been the team’s high performance head coach since May 2023. He also served as the team’s batting coach when Bangladesh toured New Zealand last year.

He is a former Bermuda international and had a sensational record in first-class cricket. He played for Glamorgan, Free State and Warwickshire and amassed over 15,500 runs to his name. He also has extensive coaching experience, as he obtained a Level 4 Coaching Certification from the ECB.

David Hemp also served as the head coach of the Pakistan Women’s National Team from 2020 to 2022. Apart from this, he is also the head coach of the Victoria State women’s team and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League. His experience would also be vital for the Bangladesh team.

Apart from him, Andre Adams will join as bowling coach. The former New Zealand international has a wealth of coaching experience, having held the position of White Ferns bowling coach before joining Bangladesh.

Andre Adams also served as the bowling coach of the New Zealand men’s team in the recent T20I series against Pakistan. He was also Australia’s assistant coach in their 2022-23 series against South Africa. The former Kiwi player was also the head bowling coach of the New South Wales Blues in the Australian Sheffield Shield from 2018 to 2023.

Bangladesh haven’t had a great time of late, but now with the new coaching staff and also the new captain, they hope to turn things around. It will be a new era for the team and they now hope to win back their claim.

Bangladesh to host Sri Lanka in multi-format tour in March 2024

Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka for the multi-format tour in the month of March. The two teams will meet for the first time in the three-match T20I series, starting since March 4. The second game will be played. March 6 followed by the last game March 9.

After that, the two teams will face each other in the three-match ODI series. The first game will be played. March 13 followed by the second and third games to be played March 15th and March 18th respectively. In the end, two teams will face each other in the Trials.

Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka in the two-Test series. The first game will be played. from March 22 to March 26. The last match is scheduled to take place. from March 30 to April 3. With both teams going through a tough time, it promises to be an exciting series between the teams.
