Basit Ali lashed out at former English cricketer Michael Vaughan in the video. Earlier, Michael Vaughan targeted PCB for dropping a classy player like Babar Azam. Take a look at Vaughan’s previous tweet below.

To this, Basit Ali has given a befitting reply to the former England cricketer. Basit Ali said PCB should send Ghulam’s photo to Vaughan and tell him that Kamran Ghulam is here to stay. According to Basit Ali, if Pakistan selectors emphasized on picking players regularly from their national set-up, it would benefit Pakistan cricket in the future.

“Kamran Ghulam ki tasveer dikha dena Michael Vaughan ko aur kehna main hoon na (Show Ghulam’s photo to Vaughan and tell him it is there). The bold decision taken by the selectors can lead to improvement (of Pakistan cricket). As “Rohit Sharma had said there (in India), we have to give domestic cricket what it deserves,” added Basit Ali.

Babar Azam sidelined by Pakistan selectors

Notably, Babar Azam completely failed against England in the first Test. He came out for 30 runs off 71 balls in the first innings.

Later, the former Pakistan captain could only manage 5 runs in the second innings as Pakistan scored 220. England won the first Test, angering the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

On the same day, PCB inducted more members of the selection committee, including Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, Bilal Afzal and Hasan Cheema.

The selectors caused major commotions when they made drastic changes to the Pakistan team, removing Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Sarfaraz Ahmed from the squad for the second and third Tests against England.

As for Babar, reports emerged that captain Shan Masood and head coach Jason Gillespie were not in favor of dropping the star batsman but the selectors took the final decision. Later, to put an end to the conspiracy theories, Azhar Mahmood, on behalf of the PCB, mentioned that Babar Azam has been rested and has not been dropped from the Pakistan team.
