Virat Kohli had a hilarious reaction to Wriddhiman Saha’s advice to his teammates during the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (May 5).

The Bengaluru-based team defeated the Titans by four wickets to register their third consecutive victory and fourth of the ongoing IPL 2024. Bowling first, RCB bowled GT out for a modest total of 147 runs. GT’s top three batsmen – Wriddhiman Saha, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan – couldn’t even reach double figures and gave up the powerplay to leave their team 3 down for 19.

Crucial knocks from Shahrukh Khan (37), David Miller (30) and Rahul Tewatia (35) helped GT post a respectable total of 147. In response, RCB chased down the total within 14 overs thanks to a whirlwind half-century of his captain. Faf du Plessis.

Du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave RCB a good start. The RCB captain raced to a fifty off 18 balls and shared a 92-run stand in just 35 balls with Virat Kohli before departing for 64. After du Plessis’ departure, RCB were in trouble following a collapse inexplicable that saw them reduce to 117 for 6 from 92 for 0.

However, Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh shared an unbeaten 35-run stand to take their team home comfortably in the end.

Virat Kohli’s funny response:

Talking about the incident between Virat Kohli and Wriddhiman Saha, it took place in RCB’s seventh innings. The former India captain never shies away from teasing other players on the field and he did so again on Saturday.

It all started when Wriddhiman Saha told his teammates to stop the flow of runs and delay the match after RCB’s quick start with the bat. The stump microphone caught the former India wicketkeeper telling his teammates: “Run roko, match kheecho (Stop the runs, drag the match).”

Virat Kohli heard his former India teammate’s comments and gave a hilarious response, saying, “Behe*c**d, aise kaise kheech loge? (How come you will drag him?).”
