What happened in the previous meeting between Rajasthan royalty and Delhi capitals
In the Indian Premier League 2024, the first match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals was held on March 28 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. That was the ninth match of the ongoing season and after posting 185 for 5, Rajasthan Royals restricted Delhi Capitals to 173 for 5 and won by 12 runs.
After the failure of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson, number 4 batsman Riyan Parag showed his quality and played a tremendous knock in the match. He smashed 84 runs off 45 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes, and was well supported by teammates Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shimron Hetmyer.
Delhi Capitals used five bowling options in the innings and all five (Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed) took one wicket each.
During the chase, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh batted well but the batting unit’s failure to fire collectively resulted in DC missing the target. Rishabh Pant looked quite irritating and played a slow knock while Tristan Stubbs fought well but his innings could not propel DC to victory.
